Introduction
UFDS was established in 2015 as a company that provides building material testing based in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The facility is an independent testing centre operated by Façade Design & Services Co. WLL(FDS), who are an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited company.

FDS is also on the Bahrain Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning list of approved independent materials testing laboratories.

UFDS offers a wide and varied range of material testing to ensure provision of quality products for incorporation into any type of building that may form part of prospective client’s portfolio. The testing of building materials and respective systems cover an extensive range. Each form of testing is custom made to appropriate standard(s) after discussion with the client(s) to meet their unique requirements.
The UFDS facility can accommodate many forms of testing which include large and small scale samples. Large scale testing includes weather performance testing to both static & dynamic (aero engine used to simulate wind), acoustic, impact and seismic testing. Small scale testing includes bench testing of glass, aluminium, stone, steel, timber and plastics.
UFDS also undertakes a variety of on-site testing to meet client’s requirements which includes acoustic, thermal, structural and weather testing.
A full service is available for system failure checks -- “forensics”-- providing potential solutions to extend and prolong the serviceability of the structures’ envelope cladding.
